Dear Emily

Mixed media installation with sound

“Dear Emily” is a physical deconstruction of the 19th century novel “Wuthering Heights” written by Emily Bronte. Reconstructed in a small secret space, it is an homage to transcendent imagination and an individual expression of the transportation of one’s mind and spirit, albeit temporarily, to another time and place.

After graduating she continued her studies at the University of British Columbia and was apprentice to master printer Thom Pruitt of Graphic Studio, Florida and Tamarind Institute. Classically trained from an early age in the piano, Katherine is currently exploring a better understanding of the cello under the tutelage of Vancouver cellist and composer Elizabeth Knudson. She is one of the founding members of the artist collaborative project Beautiful Frontier and has recently begun exploring the evocative possibilities of the installation medium and has been utilizing her music background to create equally educing soundscape accompaniments.
